Why Thousands of Families Trust
Infinity Optical Since 2008
This is not a typical "About Us." It is the story of a registered optician who refused to give up — through four forced relocations, a global pandemic, a life-changing trip to New Zealand, and an unwavering belief that every person deserves better vision.
Why Infinity Optical Was Founded
In 2008, Vliss Chan Mey Ling — a UK-registered optician holding the internationally respected FBDO qualification — opened Infinity Optical's first counter at Danga City Mall, Johor Bahru.
Her reason was simple, and it has never changed: "Everyone has the right to better vision — not just those who can afford premium eye care."
From the very first day, Infinity Optical was never designed to be just another optical shop. Vliss believed that real eye care meant understanding the whole person — not just issuing a prescription and sending them home. That belief is still the foundation of everything Infinity Optical does today.
Everyone has the right to better vision — not just those who can afford premium eye care.

When Everything Almost Stopped — And Why It Didn't
By 2012, Vliss was facing health challenges and a business at a crossroads. She made a bold decision: she applied for a New Zealand working holiday visa, handed the business to her newly graduated brother Jaules Chan, and flew out.
What followed were months of farm work in freezing New Zealand winters — physical labour that taught her the true meaning of resilience, and a deep appreciation for building something of lasting value.
Then came an urgent message: Jaules was unable to continue running the shop. Without hesitation, Vliss returned to Johor Bahru and rebuilt Infinity Optical from the ground up. That decision — to come back when it would have been easier to walk away — defined the character of the brand that families trust today.
Four Relocations. The Same Mission.
Most businesses would not survive one forced relocation. Infinity Optical survived four — and came back stronger each time. Not because it was easy, but because the families who depended on Infinity Optical made giving up impossible.
Danga City Mall → Helios Cove
June 2018: The mall that hosted Infinity Optical's first decade closed its doors permanently. With just weeks to find a new home, the team relocated to Helios Cove — keeping every single appointment, honouring every existing customer.
Helios Cove → Taman Daya
Early 2019: Rather than closing during the transition, Vliss spotted a vacant shopfront in Taman Daya. For the first time, Infinity Optical left the shopping centre world — and learned to build trust from the street up.
Taman Daya → Desa Tebrau
2024: After surviving COVID-19, a new landlord chose not to renew the lease. Infinity Optical didn't just relocate — it transformed, becoming Johor's first Eyes Physiotherapy Centre at Desa Tebrau.
Return to Taman Daya
August 2025: Infinity Optical returned to Taman Daya — this time as a full Vision Care Center. The neighbourhood that first tested the brand's street-level resilience now hosts one of its most complete branches.
Three Branches. One Registered Optician Each. One Standard.
Today, Infinity Optical operates three active branches across Johor Bahru — each managed by its own dedicated registered optician. This is not a franchise model where quality varies by location. Every branch is held to the same professional standard that Vliss built in 2008.
What every branch delivers:
- Comprehensive eye examination
- Prescription lenses & frames
- Sunglasses & contact lenses
- Registered optician on-site
- Children's vision assessment
- Vision wellness consultation
Vision Eco: Taking Eye Care Into the Community
In 2026, Vliss founded Vision Eco — a community-driven vision wellness platform built on one belief: that professional eye care should not be confined to a clinic. It should reach families, schools, and communities that have never had easy access to it.
Vision Eco is the vehicle through which Infinity Optical now delivers school programmes, community screenings, Vision Growth training, and membership benefits — making eye care not a one-time event, but a lifelong relationship.
The Vision Growth Program: Infinity Optical's Most Ambitious Investment Yet
In 2026, Infinity Optical launched its most significant programme to date — the Vision Growth Program for children. This is not a supplementary service. It is the result of 18 years of observing what standard eye tests miss, and building something that actually addresses the root cause.
Why it exists
A standard eye test tells you a child's prescription. It does not tell you why their reading is slow, why they lose focus after 10 minutes, or why their myopia keeps climbing every year. The Vision Growth Program was built to answer those questions.
Who it is for
Children aged 5 and above — especially those whose prescriptions keep changing, who struggle with reading, or who have been told their difficulties are a "focus" or "attitude" problem when the real issue may be visual function.
What makes it different
A 3-month structured programme — 12 professional sessions, personalised training plan, Personal Scope-FX physiotherapy, visual coordination training, breathing exercises, and a detailed progress report for parents after every phase.
Not Because We Are the Biggest. Because We Have Never Stopped Caring.
UK-Registered Expertise
Founded and led by a FBDO (UK) registered optician — one of the most internationally recognised professional qualifications in optometry.
Beyond the Prescription
Iridology, intraocular pressure testing, visual physiotherapy — services most optical shops in Johor don't offer, from a team that has been doing this since 2008.
Children's Vision Specialists
The only optical brand in JB with a structured, 3-month Vision Growth Program — designed specifically for children whose visual function issues are missed by standard eye tests.
18 Years of Community Trust
Over 1,000 community events. Corporate screenings at Mewaholeo and iCape. School programmes. A CSR mission (Infinity Sight Mission) that has screened over 10,000 students and teachers. We don't just talk about community — we show up.
Built Through Adversity
Four relocations. A global pandemic. A founder who flew halfway around the world and came back to save her business. The families who trust Infinity Optical know: this brand does not give up.
A Lifelong Relationship
Through Vision Eco membership, families receive annual check-ins, priority booking, family tracking, and ongoing wellness support — because your vision changes throughout your life, and we want to be there for every stage of it.
